I have finished a project that has been on my list of things to do. Two storage shelves under the galley counter. Both made of some kind of plastic that I had laying around the yard. The top shelf is eight inches wide and the bottom is five inches wide. Both have a lip to keep stuff from falling out. I have used aluminum 90 degree pieces with stainless screws to fasten to the wall. The back of these shelves are supported on the lip of the lapstrake chine. Pictures have been uploaded to my album.
Now I want to make a book shelf that will hold charts and guide books. I am thinking of making it on the starboard side in the forward bunk. Using the existing bolts of the cleat and bow rail to support it. I'm having a hard time coming up with a good design for this. Any suggestions?
What other storage solutions have you come up with?
