Stern-mounted flag on TomCat 24

I have the stern mounted on a rail as well as some clips on the all round light and a bow rail mounted unit. You need a 1 1/4 inch rail mount and they cost about $90!

There are photos in Tom-a-Hawk's album, page 4 of "Seattle Cruise, John's Pics", second down on the left. I don't know how to post photos on C-BRats. I tried the Img thing but cannot get it to work.

I used SS hose clamps to clamp a SS flagpole to the overhead all 'round light for a middle flag.

See my post on the mouting on the 22 and 25. It would work find on the Tom Cat 24 also. The transom mounting keeps any pole holder from hanging up lines on the transom or letting water into the cabinets (lazarette). You can do this on a straight transom, conventional or reverse shear transom--just choose the correct angle of the fitting.

thanks, Marty,

Here is my first try at posting the way to mount a flagpole on the Anchor light:

That looks fine. This thread was begun because of the noise of flag clips. When I had my flag on a set up hooked to the handrails, the noise of the clips was disturbing. I didn't mind just taping them up but I know this lacks the elegance required by some. Finally, I moved to a standard wooden pole and stainless surface mounted pole holder. When I leave the boat and remove the flag I use the holder for a solar light. Works great.

Noise from the clips can be minimized by 'stretching' the clips up and down a bit so there is some tension.

Also, you can tie a strip of cloth or ribbons in the clip openings and that quiets them down.
