This is my second post to C-Brats since buying C-trail 2 weeks ago. I have a number of projects going on and at this rate am spending money faster than Congress.
First, I live in St. Helens and will be looking forward to seeing all you Columbia River folk at the next gathering. Some of you (like Tyboo, to mention one) seem to be quite proficient at doing all your own work. I have the mixed blessing of being too busy and needing to farm out some project.
Near as I can tell, Les Lampman is top choice for anybody within a thousand miles of his business. But Les is so very good at his trade that he books appearances (they're not even called appointments anymore) out farther than a rock star on a three country tour. I suppose the rest of us are fortunate that not every little project needs his attention, otherwise Les and his crew would be working 24/7 (up from 18/6).
In your experience, which boat yards are worth a darn in my area? For engine work, I have BF40 Hondas on the stearn. In the past I've always used Roger's Marine Electronics for things with knobs and wires. Help would be appreciated. I've also used Schooner Creek as shipwright for bigger boats of my past. I've been off the water for about ten years and am out of touch with local craftsmen.
Help appreciated. Love this site. It's hard to have a job.

Upcoming project list to be done asap:
* convert to hydraulic steering
* add TT's
* add autopilot w/ remote
* add windlass, bruce and self-launching rollers
I also need to pick up some electric Scotty downriggers. Where might be the best source?
Only peeve about the C-Dory: I positively despise StarBoard panels, which are proving nearly impossible to clean. The people at C-Dory suggest 80grit sandpaper, which should be a strong clue to the factory that they are travelling the wrong road by using this wretched substance.
Favorite dream lately: that EQ Marine opens a Portland location and gas falls to $1.50/gal.
