Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Is there a trim tab on that engine? As I recall from my stern drive days, the adjustment of the trim tab evens out the steering pressure required to turn in either direction.

It does.

It's also hard to turn at slower speeds as well.

sounds like prop torque. The Suzuki 150 will swing a higher pitch prop than many motors because of the gear ratio. What is the prop diameter and pitch? What is WOT speed and RPM.

You should trim out most of the torque with the engine trim tab when at cruising speed.

I would look at the steering at the motor while someone is turning the wheel. sounds like something is binding up at the ram. is it flexing? it should not be hard to turn at low speed and not hard in only one direction. I would think mechanical and not hydro.
