While you can never be cautious enough, I think that if it is your time to go god wouldn't be cruel enough to completely wreck a great weekend of boating with something like a heart attack. Don't get me wrong - he'd try to sink you, make you miserable with ground swell, and give you every bit of the murphy factor he can throw at you.
This quote (T.R. Bauer; from the recent AED thread) reminded me of a classic PBS television movie from the early 70's. It disappeared for many years, but has recently been issued again on DVD and is available from NetFlix. (We bought our own copy from Amazon.)
The title is Steambath, starring Bill Bixby and Valerie Perrine. It was controversial due to brief partial nudity

The identity of 'God' (along with his 'day job') is unexpected, to say the least. Several scenes illustrate how 'God' looks down and selects who stays and who goes, along with the when and how. (The 'why' remains largely obscure.) With minor revisions, the scene described above (quote) would fit right into the screenplay.
Steambath is funny as hell, but also raises some thought-provoking issues. Highly recommended.
