I installed a Starlink mini on our C-22, and also bought another slightly different mount so it could be used on the Vanagon rack. Both types of mounts are a wedge-shaped piece that the mini slides onto and locks with 2 plastic tabs. The flat bar mount on the VW is a very rigid material and the mini locks onto it solidly and convincingly. Not so with the vertical pipe mount that we are using on the C-Dory: it seems to be a cheaper plastic and doesn't seem to lock securely. It did pop loose already when I was installing it. I don't know if Davy Jones needs a Starlink antenna, but I don't want to donate mine.
Has anyone had a problem or a concern with this mount? If so, have you found a solution? The mini is very slick in design, so I don't see any way to add some security. I should clarify: I am not concerned about theft, I am concerned about it falling off on the road or in rough seas. Thanks for your comments.
