starboard bilge 2006 tom cat

howdy,
need advise on starboard bilge toggle switch.


i have a red light on that switch. reset wall panel button.
would not reset- checked 10 amp fuse and replaced. however red light stays on.
cannot hear bilge activate, and port bilge works.

I had the same problem. My stbd bilge pump burned out and I had to replace it. You can reach down (or get your trained monkey with 4' arms to do it) unsnap it and bring it up where you can work on/see it. The wires should belong enough to allow you to do that. There's a wiring diagram I put in the documents section.

Watch your fingers, it can start suddenly and although the little impeller is harmless looking it can give you a nasty.... :shock: Don't ask how I know.

Charlie is right on...reach down with a long sleeve shirt to prevent scrapes and with your thumb on one side and middle finger on the other side of the bilge squeeze the tabs together and pull it out. You should have enough wire to pull it right out of the hole to work on it. You can test the float switch there and anything else you need to do. If you can find the exact size replacement it's very easy to replace.

I had to replace my stb bilge pump after the 1st season (though it was probably broken when it left the dealership).
