“A large swath of the North Central United States is at risk of moderate to major flooding this spring. This area extends from northeastern Montana through western Wisconsin and along the Mississippi River south to St. Louis.” Quoted from the National Weather Service.

The following map may be of interest for those making cruising plans for spring.

I'll be going to a flood preperation meeting here in Prescott, WI. on Tuesday. We are at the confluence of the Mississippi and St. Croix rivers which are probably both headed for record highs. Being 37 feet from the river we are glad we are on the second floor at least. All of the flood areas in south western Minnesota feed into the Mississippi via the Minnesota River, so we will get all of that too. A look at our album will give you an idea of our vunerability. If anyone wants to come to the flood, we have front row seats.

Wow...

We had our crazy floods last spring here in Mass. Yesterday I finally crossed off another project on the home "to do" list by installing another sump hole in our basement. 3 masonry blades for cutting the top edge and a 35lb jack hammer to cut through the concrete.

I hope the midwest makes out OK.
