South Sound Cruzin'

As we sit in the reciprocal slip in Kingston, it's a balmy 75 degrees! We've been waiting for some nice weather to cruise S. Puget Sound, and it's here 8) 8)
We drove around Kingston a bit in their free electric loaner car. What a great idea for a Marina.

Tomorrow we will wander off towards Poulsbo then further South. We plan on being out a week. Give a call on 16 or send a PM if you want to join in the fun. Or call 360-460-3894 cell.

The weather is too good to waste at home!

If you can make it to Tacoma by Saturday, the Tacoma Craft Beer Festival is going on from noon to 8 PM. It's right in the Foss Waterway, so you can moor right at the event. 50 breweries will be on hand to sample.

I'll be doing a homebrew demonstration Saturday afternoon.

Wish we could be with you but the newest 4 legged addition to this family is not quite ready

We did a cruise to the Mid Sound area earlier in the year and really enjoyed it. We also discovered that the word "Tacoma" really means "Land of the demented iron horse". There seems to be a gazillion freight trains pass through right behind the marina at night and they really enjoy the sadistic pleasure of making the regulatory whistle blowings at each and every road crossing.

Apart from that it's a great facility with the Museum of Glass and a host of great things to do close by.

We continued to Gig Harbor (Arabella's) then Bremerton and Poulsbo.

Really want to go down and cruise the lower end of the sound sometime.

See Y'all soon.

Be sure to find the bakery in Poulsbo - very Yummy.

If you want to anchor and dingy to shore, check out Hope Island, which is a bit past Budd Inlet.

Wish we could join you guys but we are in Austin, TX right now.

Have fun and be safe.

We took Rick's suggestion and tied up on the Foss Waterway and sampled beer for a few hours on Saturday. Rick's homebrewing apparatus looks pretty professional to me. Look out Pat & David!

Friday we had lunch in Gig harbor with CD-19 owners Mike & Jan from Bainbridge Island. After lunch we motored to Brownsville for another night of reciprocal moorage.

Tonight we're once again in a reciprocal slip in Gig Harbor. We had a nice walk downtown and a filling Mexican lunch.

Plans are now to visit DesMoines tomorrow and end up in Langley Tuesday night before heading home. We hope we can meet up with a few more Brats along the way.

(A) I see we were represented at the Tacoma Craft Beer Festival - didn't know we were going to be there, but hope you had one of ours...

(2) Rick is welcome to bring any of his brews for our "professional" evaluation! If he is lucky, maybe he have his hobby run amok and start a brewery too! Be forewarned, though, that the way to make a small fortune in the beer business is to start with a large one!

I saw a red, what looked to be tomcat, anchored just outside the Narrows Marina on Saturday morning. I was riding the Amtrak up from Portland to Seattle. Was that you? Train was moving fast and only caught a quick glimpse through the trees and buildings. Hope you had a good week cruising. We hope to be out next weekend at Poulsbo or Kingston if the weather holds up.

I'm glad Mike and Jan are enjoying their new boat!

If you get south sound again, I love Longbranch. A quiet little marina with nothing on shore, just a nice cove that is quiet, and a large dock space for activities. Part of it is covered so even if weatehr is abd, groups can hang out there.

Firstmate,

Nope, not us. But we are having fun. No rain yet despite the clouds. Changed itinerary this AM to go to Port Orchard instead of DesMoines.

If you go near the B row, say hi to Aurelia for us! To bad we are out of town and not able to meet up with you. Have fun!
