Well Im in the middle of a couple projects and need a couple things, first off is stainless steel L brackets, I looked at west marine and boaters world and got zip locally. The second item is decraguard. Where can I get a sheet of this stuff? And last I want some of this

Not the wire but the covering that CD uses alot of, I am rewiring some stuff and would like to match this if possible. Any ideas? Help would be appreciated.

First of all, your hull is still under warranty and, if you're replacing the existing ferrous brackets with SS ones, I've seen here that the factory is replacing them. Just ask.

As far as decraguard goes, just google it, I found several sources, including West Marine and others.

Looking at the last one.

I figured it would be faster just to buy the L brackets but I will contact Cdory. I might as well ask them about the wire cover stuff while I am at it. I tried google for the decragueard, but couldn't seem to find a place to just order some. I could try the manufacturer, but I doubt they sell to anyone but distributors etc... West marine definitely didn't have it or at least I couldn't find it online. Might have to try the factory on that too.

Here's a LINK

to the sleeving.

Try searching google on "Starboard" instead of decraguard. It's a trade name.

I don't think they're synonymous (sp?) I believe decraguard is treated pressed board with a hard shell and starboard is perhaps a plastic or some type of synthetic sort of flatboard. The material Sportcraft set the Wallas into on the counter is a solid, hard plastic looking material which they called Starboard...the cabinetry has a cut edge which resembles plywood.

We were able to get a chunk of decraguard from the factory...looks like you might be in driving distance? Might try to get all the items at the factory..they're quite reasonable in pricing as they are items they use in manufacture (at least decraguard USED to be :smile )

Good luck!

Thanks for the links and tips so far. I have also emailed the factory so we'll see where that gets me. Starboard is the plastic stuff, that they definitly sell at the local West Marine. I am looking for the wood with the laminate on it. And the sleeving I can't seem to tell if it's the same, looks close. I 'd hate to have to redo what is already in there so I'm hoping for an exact match.

FWIW I don't use starboard, I buy a teflon cutting board and cut/rout it to size. Its a whole lot cheaper and seems to work fine for backers, etc.

I dont know about the L brackets but as for the wire sheathing I was in the same boat as you. I just went down to the factory and asked for some. They peeled off 6 or 7 feet and said thanks for buying a C-Dory. Hope this helps

I've got an email in to the factory asking for some help with getting these items. And just to be clear the L brackets I need are for a new shelf I'm putting in, the factory ones are I beleive stainless. So those are in good shape.

For clarification; King Starboard http://www.kingstarboard.com/Default2.aspx) is a high density polymer
--and I also often buy the cutting boards instead of paying the high prices.
Decaguard; http://www.olypanel.com/industrial/mari ... aguard.php
Marine DecraGuard's ® laminated surface is permanently fused to hardwood faced plywood and bonded with waterproof glue (from the web site--it is not pressed wood, but is marine plywood.

There are substitutes for both of these products--which may be found on occasion at local hardware stores and big box stores.

I would check any SS "L" brackets on a boat with a magnet, to be sure that it is stainless steel. SS is not magnetic. I believe that the SS has only been used recently (the last few months?).

Starboard has UV inhibitors - the other "plastics" will degrade in sunlight. Not a problem for backing and things not exposed to sunlight, but something to be aware of. In Seattle, check out Laird Plastics on Industrial Way (also a good source for Tenite tubing if you make your own sight gauges for fuel).
