SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

Got the sh*t kicked out of us on the way back today. left la Connor around noon in a small-craft advisory w/25 to 30 mph winds.

the crossing from skagit bay to the north end of Camano Island was the worse. 8 knots and getting kicked around as the wind waves came out of skagit bay form the east and out of oak harbor from the west at the same time.

By the time we rounded Elger bay the waves laid down to a mire 2ft crop and we ran all the way to Everett at 18 mph. Oh and the wallas still wont fire, again.

In Everett we decided to go for a walk on jetty island. While walking the beach a very large eagle, either a golden or a immature bald, fly up and sat on a dead root ball 10 ft a way ( i measured after he left) Just a wonderful bird. Huge claws and that razor sharp looking beak. Neither of us has been that close to a eagle before, wild or tame. the camera was ,of course, in the boat.

All and all a wonderful day.

Yeah Tom and Susan. I caught wind (sorry for the pun) of the ensuing gale force conditions around 7:30pm while finishing my dinner in Anacortes. Since I had already planned on not fishing in the morning, I high-tailed it back to C-Dancer, started the engines and drove like a bat out of he*l at dusk. Made it back to Twin Bridges at 8:10pm just as dark was settling in, cleared my gear off the boat and was back in Seattle and hour and a half later. I'm glad I made that decision, otherwise I would have been in the same boat you two were in (figuratively speaking).

The very first time Caryn and I hit adverse sea conditions was exactly that spot where Skagit Bay dumps into Saratoga Passage. It can get nasty out there. Glad you made it home ok.

I decided it was time for a weekend boat trip and took my brother instead of the wife (good plan for this trip) as this was the first overnight on the boat. We left Suisun City, Ca boat ramp at 6pm friday, we found a snagalong the river and stern tied to that and then anchored out. Game warden payed us a visit at 10pm. 3:30am woke to the sound of the shifting tide which has a 3mph current where we were at. The anchor had shipped and we were 10' from running the motors into the rock bank. We decided to pack it in and follow the GPS assisted by the full moon for an hour and pulled in to a boat ramp for a well deserved break. After the sun came up we had our first locking experience. Ended up in Franks Tract for the next night, which was very peaceful. Made several meals on the Wallas

Made the return on Sunday and now have a list of all the little things we need to start getting ready for our big adventure, the inside passage in a few years.
 
We ran 25 miles today to Port Ludlow. The Gale warning was still in effect but the worst had passed during the night. The Straits of Juan de Fuca had 6" to 12" chop, Port Townsend and Oak Bay 2-3' chop. The wind is still blowing but the Sun's out at 16:30. All systems working well after 6 months in storage. All in all, a sucessful shakedown.
 
Pulled the boat cover off the boat this weekend, cleaned her up and did full service on the motor, mucked out the cabin, put the camper top on, dink inflated and secured up top.

Took this picture at 8:50 pm tonight, sun is still on the trees in the back ground.

We plan on doing an overnight this weekend out in Prince William Sound. Catch some rock fish for dinner, do a little beach combing for stuff that washed up from winter storms, check out a tiny cove we’ve never explored; it’s been a long winter.

I finally got around to putting the name on the boat after 2 years.

Looking a lot better than it did here less than a month ago.

Holy...is right!! Wow what a thrill that must have been. And what a relief to get out of it without getting too banged up and be able to see the boat unharmed, hmm? Metal stuff like the truck and trailer is easy to fix - flesh and fiberglass, not so easy.

Charlie, if you want the photos to actually appear in your message, yes, you have to upload them to the site. If you just want to link to them via URL then no, you don't have to upload. If you can, post a message with an embedded image from another site, but I don't think it can be done.

However, after an incident of overly horked bandwidth (Bill calls it horking), the ability to hotlink pics from C-Brats was blocked. That's too bad. Maybe we ought to try allowing that again because it sure is handy.

One more beer and I'm outa here.

The problem with allowing that is that you will inevitably end up with broken links or missing images, plus it will drastically slow down how fast pages load, as they try to grab images from all over the net. I say, leave it the way it is!
