SNICKERS - Morning, Noon and Night!

Hi C-Dory Captains & First Mates,

Who knew owning a C-Dory would be so much fun? And that we'd meet such nice people we can now call friends!

Purchased C-Trek from Fred & Pat Misserly (Red Lion, PA) this past year. We dock at Mid-Lakes Marina in Macedon, NY on the Erie Canal. Took a group trip to the Genesee River in Rochester for July 4th celebration. Had never seen the fireworks up close and those that went off on the water were simply awesome!

Boat is renamed "SNICKERS", my favorite candy bar and to make our Erie Canal trips a little more fun, we pass out mini snickers to each Lockmaster (and with each boat card we pass out we also give a candy bar). Believe me, folks remember us!! We've only ventured out a few times this year - Newark, NY is a beautiful little port; even got to meet one of the mural painting artists; we've driven all the locks to Baldwinsville, NY and plan to drive to Buffalo before we sadly cover the boat for the winter. Our hope is to trek the entire length next summer from Buffalo to Albany and to stop in each of the little towns that line the Erie Canal. More later . . . Happy end of season boating for those located in the northeast!!

Captain "SNICKERS" , Welcome to the C-Brats. What a cool and unusual, friendly and memorable way to travel. Snickers reputation is sure to go far and wide. In fact, someone here on the site already leat the cat out of the bag, and we are looking forward to seeing you out here in the PNW, or for the January Seattle Boat Show (SBS) C-Brat Get Together (CBGT). I believe I heard of the "Snickers" travel program :wink on Jim and Joan's Eire Canal Adventures (See Travel's of Wild Blue thread). You sound like you are making good use of your boat. We are looking forward to seeing some photos, (PM Tyboo or DaNag to ask them to set up an album for you). Glad you're here.

Yep, we met Jim... he did, indeed, present us with fun-size Snicker bars. He may be a newbie at posting, but he knows about the Brats. Glad to see you here, Jim.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Hey Snickers!

Marcia and I enjoyed meeting you on the Canal this summer. Hope we will cross wakes again.

Best wishes,

Nick and Marcia

Jim:

If/when you run the Canal to Buffalo, let us know. We have a home less than 10 miles south of Spencerport, and a cottage 10 miles north of Middleport. In August, we met up with the C-Brats traveling the Canal from Geneva to Tonawanda, and joined them for dinner in Middleport.

We "moor" our CD on its trailer, and park it at our cottage which is adjacent to Golden Hill SP, where we frequently drop it into L. Ontario. Our usual "put in" to the Canal is the launch at Widewaters Marina in Lockport.

Dun:

Sorry we will miss you, as you cruise through our area. Currently, we are Seattle. We fly home to Rochester on Tuesday. But we have a short turn-around, and leave in our RV for Indiana on Wednesday.

Snickers,
While visiting friends at the Rose Lummis Tour Boat during the Canaltown Days, I waved to a C-Dory cruising east past the Port of Palmyra Marina on Saturday afternoon (9/19). Was that you?
