Slow progress on the 22

Progress is slow. I have completed renovation to the trailer, including a conversion to bunks.
All new everything, Coupler, winch, bearings, LED lights, 8 ply tires, spare hub.

The boat is stripped down to the bare hull with the rub rail off....and has undergone a wet sanding and polishing......looks much better.

Next is reattachment and thru-bolting of the rub rail, then I will start on the interior.

We just returned from a trip to Louisiana for the Crawfish festival, Great fun.

In 3 days we are leaving for a couple of weeks going down the Arkansas River on the little houseboat, starting near Tulsa.

Makes me ******ALMOST******wish I had bought it, grins. Doing great work, it really looks like a different boat.
 
Tex, what grit sandpaper did you use and did you hand sand it? Thanks

With all of the holes that needed patching, it was more of a job than I wanted to tackle, so I hired it done. But on smaller jobs I have started with 400 or 600 grit wet sanding and worked my way up to 1200 grit before starting to polish.
 
Are you kidding me!!! I would love to see the before and after pics side-by-side. I can't remember where the before pics are otherwise I'd post it myself. But I do remember the shape she was in.

As I related in the older posts, Bringing the boat home, I was pulled over by the State Trooper for no license plate on the trailer, I offered to show him the bill of sale showing that I had just bought the boat. The boat was in such ratty condition that he said " I don't need to see the bill of sale, no one would steal this boat".

Cleaned up nice!

Its kind of fun to make a boat nice again when so many think your crazy for buying a what appeared to be a lost cause to the untrained eye. Isn't it.
