OK, Marc, explain why you didn't let the C-Brats know about the Sports Illustrated swimsuit shoot. Hell we wouldn't have told anybody.
 
I was waiting to see if any of the shots we did on the boat appear in the magazine , I captained 2 of the models on a number of shoots on an R 27 Ranger Tug . It was a really fun, aestetically pleasing [to say the least] ,educational experience and I made some new friends in the process. I am fairly certain Ariel Merideth's video interview on the website will be in the cockpit of the Ranger Tug at the "millpond" or commercial marina above Scipio Creek Marina and perhaps some of the magazine shots as well .
My wife Anita put the whole thing together being one of the few people in town that realized what a huge positive impact this will have for us . You have to have all the right things for a professional group like that and we pulled it off .
The cover shot debuts [always kept secret till the day before] on Letterman tonight and the issue hits the stands Valentines day .

APALACHICOLA, Florida -- Florida's "Forgotten Coast" got an unforgettable experience last October, when Sports Illustrated models, photographers and crew rolled into Apalachicola to shoot pictorials for this month's Swimsuit Issue, which hits newsstands Feb. 14.

The magazine routinely shoots in exotic beach locations around the world, but kept it closer to home for at least a few shots.

"It took us a couple days to master saying it," swimsuit issue editor Diane Smith told USA Today. "We thought we can do some good for our country, really help a region that needs to be showcased."

Smith said that in addition to local Apalachicola scenes, two local dogs will make an appearance in the issue.

Marc, if only you had the C-Brats gathering during this shoot everybody would been there in attendance. I plan on buying this issue as soon as it is available.
 
Alas, the mundane existence of the lowly boat dealer. We should all appreciate the sacrifices Marc makes for his craft.

There's a lot of local back story thats interesting if you are a fan of petty local politics . Definitley a triumph of vision over local greed for Anita and The Apalachicola Bay area Chamber of Commerce .Our Tourist Development Agency flat turned it down and Anita went ahead and made it happen anyways. Then the TDC went and changed their minutes of the meeting to make it seem as though they were on board .
The credits to Wefings Marine wont hurt either .
BTW the actual boat used is now owned by a couple from Ft Lauderdale.They know of its past glory.

Is the cover picture taken on the inside of a Ranger Tug in Appalach? Some of the items appear to be larger than standard equipment. Maybe they shot it using an autos rear view mirror. Objects in mirror are closer than they appear. I would hate to see her in sweater. :shock: Yowser

Not that I paid attention but I accidentally distilled some handy links for Y'all . If you look closely ,there is some Ranger Tugs mixed in with the more obvious attributes of the photograhy and video . The Ariel Merideth was shot on the boat for the interview .Al the shots from the water were on the Tug as well .

Need life size cutouts of the girls to pose on the Tugs at boat shows Marc.

While the girls were a little distracting the Tug looked fabulous!
