Sharing Sounder

Two years ago many of you helped me decide to purchase a C-Dory along with how to outfit and use it. Well you haven't heard much from me since because we've been out enjoying our boat. So many of your photo albums helped us understand how you all used your boats and we thought it was time to finally share some photos of Sounder with you.

Our boat is at our home in Oriental North Carolina and named Sounder because we use her to enjoy Pamlico Sound and the adjacent sounds out to Cape Lookout and Beaufort Inlet.

She has proven to be the perfect boat for our purposes. There is no better example of compromise then in boat design and we have learned what she does and doesn't do well but we would not trade her for any other boat in her class, style, size or price range.

Thank you all for helping us understand this great boat and I hope all of you enjoy yours as much as we have learned to enjoy ours.

Wishing everyone safe and adventuresome boating in 2009,

Bob, Dori and Sophie

Thanks for all of us Bob, Dori and Sophie. Sure are glad to have you with us!!

I sure wish, as I think most of us do, that I was so busy on the boat that I had little time to post! Gotta do better this year, it's one of my resolutions. That, along with giving up chewing tobacco and smoking, neither one of which I have ever done, so it should be simple to do the boat one since I've already got the other two made! :thup

Nice images, Bob! How 'bout sharing some of your travel stuff with the boat? The folks in the frozen northland could use some sharing that way, too. :D

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Bob, Nice to have you here (back) and glad you are enjoying your boat. Nice photos. My wife really liked the Pony pix and I like the sandy beach and clear water.

Happy safe boating in 2009,

Harvey

Hey Guys,

Thanks for posting photos of your area. One nice thing about this site is seeing all of the beautiful cruising areas around the USA.

I am like you in that I spend so much time on the boat, I don't post too many current photos, but I do not have such a beautiful area as your photo shows close by.

Thanks again,

John

NIce looking boat We had a 22 cruiser (Duck) but sold it for the cape cruiser -23 I noticed you pull the 22 with a Acura MDX how does that tow for you? We have the Honda Pilot 4whl. drive with 3.5 v-6 . I'm thinking about coming up to the chesapeake gathering this summer .Do you load up your cd-22 what equipment do you have what kind of weight are you pulling?

Wish I had that excuse, Mother Nature dictates otherwise for us.
This group helps us cope and lessens the winter blues.
Sooner or later everyone comes back to the roost, thanks for sharing.
