I have a CD 22 cruiser hull without motor. Going to order new Yamaha F90. What is the proper shaft length to use for this hull? 20 or 25?

so nice he said it twice......

I haven't measured the Yamaha 80 on my 22, but I thought it was the long shaft/20" for the C-Dory 22 (but the extra-long/25" for the C-Dory 25). So in other words, I thought one would buy a 20" shaft motor for a 22.

But maybe I'm wrong?

The transom height on my C Dory 22 from the top of the transom to the bottom of the boat is 20 1/2". The Height from the top of the bracket to the antiventllation plate on the Yamaha F90 is 21". It would appear that the 20" "shaft" length is proper.

On our 22' we have a 90TLRB long shaft, 20" shaft'
It matches the transom height perfectly.
Have a good day

transom height on all 22 C-Dory's we have seen and rigged is 20" Long Shaft. We have two 22's in the yard right now and they are both long shaft. 40 and 50 horsepower motors are only offered in 20" length, so it has to be a 20" for them to fit.

The L in motor identification means 20in the XL means 25in then CXL is counter rotating extra long shaft 25in. They also make a 30 in lower unit for the big fishing boats
All the 14,16,19,22,23 c-dories all are 20in or L engines

The cd-25 and venture 26 are XL or 25in .

Thank you for all of the replies!
