Seattle Fauntleroy Terminal and ferry Cathlamet Crash

Some ferries are taller than others. Depends on the tide level at the time of the crash how high up on a ferry the dolphin would reach. It doesn't say that the ferry hit a dolphin, but says "pilings". It also said the tide was so low that it almost ran aground. The diagram in the paper shows that the ferry hit the back side of the dolphin, not the normal "ship side", so who knows what the piling profile is.

Seems like there is very much hush hush about this, but I did see that the ferry captain resigned. Sure will be interesting to get the CG investigation report. All the crew were cleared with negative drug tests . . . so what in the world caused this.
