Seastar helm wedge install?

I didn't use the wedge but I did cant the helm a bit so my legs would fit between the seat and the wheel. I didn't even know they made a wedge for it, and at the price listed I wouldn't have bought it anyway.

I just took the boat down to the marina so I will have to look at it for you later, but it seems to me I used extra nuts and washers on the mounting studs to jack out the bottom side to tilt it upward and was able to cover the gap with the bezel that came with it. Mine is the standard helm that mounts on the outside of the bulkhead.

Funny - right after I put it in years ago I mentioned on here that I wished I had bought the tilt helm model and Joel (SEA3PO) asked why I didn't just tip it up. It was a forehead slapping moment.

Thanks for the reply Mike.
I just installed a new helm seat, and raised it a few inches so that I could see out better (vertically challenged people need to do this) and sure enough, it's a pretty tight fit to get one's legs between the seat and the wheel.
I will take a closer look to see if it's possible to make a wedge, or just use spacers....sure would save a ton of work not having to disconnect lines. Thanks again!
Chris
