Seaside Restaurants

Hi,
If you do come to New Jersey there are two places which are my favorites that are not to be missed The Crab Trap In Somers Point New Jersey right on the bay with docks next to Ocean City always a wait but ALWAYS worth it. It is actually a pretty nice place a lttle more upscale on the edge of pricey. The other a bit more rustic over looks Great Bay is called The Oyster Creek Inn. It is actually in a very large 43000 acre federal wild life preserve I believe called the Edwin B. Forsyth Widlife Preserve. A little more rustic but the place is in one of the most beautiful location with docks right on Oyster Creek. Depending on the time of year Great Bay provides excellent fishing for large weakfish, bluefish, stripers, black drum, blue claw crabs, clams, blowfish, croaker, seabass, and oysters. Oyster Creek Inn has been around a very long time. Pretty salty place. Have fun Don't be a croaker hater.

The Crab Shack Resturant on 6 Mile Creek located about 25 miles south of Jacksonville.

We have a Crab Shack here in San Diego with a tiny dock for about 4 C-Dorys max. Unfortunately it's off my list of "approved restaurants" because almost everything is deep fried. Cardiac Casseroles....

We do have a very busy seafood "Fast food" type restaurant at Fishermans Landing at the end of Emerson Street. 30 years ago you would overhear a lot of Portuguese spoken at the various tables . . . a favorite spot for the real fishermen and the locals "in the know". Unfortunately the best kept secret in San Diego got out and now it's very crowded and the parking lot has a waiting line, but the fish is still fresh, plentiful and good. Fairly cheap too, there's a fish market inside and I can highly recommend leaving with a little smoked Wahoo.

Dito for the "Crap Shack" here in Ventura. :thdown :thdown
Ate there once--- never again-- nope-- no second chance for this one.

The Crab Shack on 6 mile creek isn't affiliated with the chain it's locally owned but a big portion of their menu is fried. I agree the chain crab shack sucks. This place is way out in the boonies actually the only thing on 6 miles creek and they catch their own blue crabs from their own boat.
