Checked out the photo's of Seabeagle's 08 vacation. For those who haven't-take a peek. Beautiful rock formations and water. Looks like they had a wonderful time. Also really like the combination of their small truck and camper with the 16' c-dory.

When checking in I look forward to seeing the new photo activity as much as the Most Recent Topics. Sometimes even more.

Anyway, thanks Seabeagle and all the others who make the effort to share their photo's.

Thanks for the kind words. I have anther full set of pics from that vacation to post from my wifes camera. A lot will look the same, just from her perspective. I am also planning to post a lot of pics from my regular outings on the local waters and a lot of mods that I have done. I now have a little more time with the end of the boating season. I think next weekend, rain or shine, will be it for us here in S.E. Michigan.

Seabeagle,
Some of those pix brought back memories. I was stationed at K. I. Sawyer AFB for 5 years (1971-76) and boated a lot in Lake Superior. The Upper Peninsula is a boating paradise with so many lakes. In those days my boating was in a 14' cartopper with an18hp Evinrude or paddling a canoe. The Pictured Rocks area was always a favorite.

The pics were taken in a couple of spots around Michigan. It wasn't an all boating water adventure, we trailered the Sea Beagle II to where we wanted to go and spent some of the nights in the woods with the truck.
Days 1 & 2 were at our home in Farmington before we left, Power Island in the west arm of the Grand Traverse Bay and Traverse City beach, and the quaint town of Leland along the shore of Lake Michigan.
Days 3 & 4 were again at Power Island.
Day 5 was in the Straits of Mackinac, Mackinac Bridge, Mackinac Island and The Grand Hotel, and a gift shop / lookout tower in St. Ignace where you are allowed to write on the walls inside. You can see our personal progress there.
Day 6 starts in the woods somewhere in the UP, launches from Munising, and travels along the entire Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Some of the attractions included The Miners Castle, Miners Beach, Mosquito Beach, and Lovers Leap. Oh yeah, did you see the pirate face in the rock in pics 63 & 64?
Day 7 was passing the Mackinac Bridge again and returning to Traverse Beach and Power Island.

Here's a couple links to a couple of videos from the trip.

The truck is a 1999 Chevy S-10 ZR2 4.3L auto with minor engine mods, touchscreen DVD/GPS/Nav and major suspension upgrades. It has no lift-kit, that is the stock height. 7-9 mpg as loaded. Normally 13-17 mpg. This truck can out-pull anything and has more touque than any truck I've ever driven.
The camper is a 1990 6-Pac. Its a fully loaded camper for mini-trucks.

And of course, starring in many of the pics, are our 2 beagles Oliver and Oscar, and my wife.
