Sea Conditions Video with NOAA forcast

I have seen a number of people asking about the C-Dory and how well it can handle various sea conditions. I thought it might be interesting to post video of the C-Dory running in various conditions along with the NOAA weather reports that describe the condition(s).

I will start with the maiden voyage of Sea-Cruz. The seas were projected to be mixed with a NW swell of 5.6 feet at 7 seconds and a south wind of 5-10. What I think the video shows is about 4-5 foot seas, mixed as forecast but with lighter winds. The first part and the last part are flat seas close to shore.

I enjoyed looking at that, i do my boating mostly on the Ste Mary's River and Little Lake George. I never have experienced swells with 5 feet waves. When the conditions are real bad with 20-30 kph+ winds on the river or Lake where i boat and fish the waves seem to be closer together and are brutal to handle at any speed. I would think that travel would be easier when there was a ( eg ) 8 foot waves and a long distances between waves, i may be wrong though.I will try to take a video the next time i am out in some storm conditions.

Looks like a typical day going around Point Wilson. Often closer frequency, sometimes bigger waves. I avoid going into the whitecaps. Really need to run 2 boats around there, side by side, to show the boat action. The onboard video doesn't do the ride justice.

Thanks for the ride video. Good picture.
