Boat has been been in wet slip for 2months,figured better try to clean hull. With depth of lake Cayuga over 300ft and in north ,water is finally tolerable without wetsuit. Jumped in when it was 55 degrees before looking at temps in first couple weeks up there. Could not clean hull then, got out of water fast. So yesterday anchored near shore waist high water, then took a line and tied off stern to a tree to keep stern from swinging out. Winds were calm yesterday. But soon found out that first sunny day after weeks of rain, meant a lot of boat traffic. So boat wakes were worse than a windy days waves. I scrubbed with brush and magic erasers, even put on a snorkel to get underneath. A few times big waves rocked the boat bigtime, glad anchor held. It was a big sideways rocking of boat. Im guessing having stern tied kept boat from swinging and reducing wave impact. After finishing cleaning hull walked part way up mountain for cold shower under waterfall, then finished with warm water on boat from coleman solar shower. Next hull cleaning will be done on weekday with less boat traffic. A few neighbors on dock overnighted on mooring buoys by salt mine, said they heard and watched loons with young ones.
