Since it's been 105 deg F outside all day, I started thinking about some of the cool places Judy and I have been. so following are some pictures of a trip to the Channel Islands off Santa Barbara.
Anchoring in Pelican Bay, Santa Cruz Island. We have steep cliffs and open anchorages.

One of the better things to do is to take the boat into the Painted Cave on Santa Cruz. Here we are approaching the cave, and (I think) it looks small.

Entering the cave.

Inside the cave. We've had a 36' sailboat, with 50' mast in here.

And leaving the cave.

And just to remind you we have open anchorages in SoCal. Beechers Bay in Santa Rosa Island. Journey On is next to the sailboat.

And ending this trip on a pleasing note, Judy landed in Cuyler Harbour in San Miguel Island

Blame the heat.
