San jaun snow!!!

Thanks, Janet... I guess I will just be monitoring channel 68 to see who pops up. I will have to look up
Center Island. I remember Lopez Island. I plan on going to Friday Harbor, Roche Harbor, Deer Harbor, Deception Pass and to pass along Lime kiln point in search of Orkas a time or two. Based in Edmonds, I hope to take my son down to 'Bell Harbor Marina so he can walk up to the Pike Market shops one day also.

Freshwater Bay got area got anywhere from 10" to 15" of snow(still snowing). Power and phone was down for 24 hours. I haven't seen snowflakes that big in a long time, pretty cool.

Lots of broken limbs and fallen trees in the area. I got off pretty easy, just a torn off gutter from the shop, the satellite dish got flattened and the outside power conduit for the shop bent over.

Bill, your barn is still standing, and without a scratch. Added a few more photos of the snow today under the above link.

Hey C-Lou's,

The news said you were getting hit pretty hard over there. Glad to hear you're all okay and not to much damage to your property. Lots of trees down in the woods behind us. Thankful that we're not having to travel in this stuff. Suppose to warm up by the week-end (in the 40s, which after this snow bout we're having that's gonna be shirt sleeve weather for a PNW person).

One son's in Australia swimming in the Indian Ocean about 70+ degrees there, he says. The other son's in Helena, MT for a Costco event and should have taken his long johns with him. The grandsons are thrilled that they haven't had to go to school. Joe's still muttering about being somewhere else other than here at the moment. He'll be okay after everything thaws out and the days start getting longer.

Take care.

Ruth and Joe

P.S. Thanks for sharing with all of us the great snow photos of Freshwater Bay.

thought I'd add my snow "two cents" worth. Walked down to Soulmate yesterday ( we live in friday harbor which has 6 to 8 inches on the ground) and checked her out. I was concerned that if it snowed enough it might cause the stern to settle and lower the cockpit drains enough to let water in, well what happened was the snow load pushed the bow down about 4 inches raising the stern even higher. So I guess thats one less thing for me to worry about. The snow has been so beautiful, but forget trying to get anything done around here.
