rocket launchers for 22 Cruiser

Jim, it may be as much as three weeks before I get to the actual installation phase. I want to find some 1/8" rubber sheeting to back it up and my dance card has been filled to the brim lately. Next week the trailer gets returned to trade side guides for end guides and get the axles moved back a few inches, then the boat visits the fiberglass guys for a couple of gel coat repairs. 1 minor factory defect, 1 minor dumb misteak by me.

I foresee zero problems with installing the launchers, though the storage cover might need to be modified slightly to add a little tube room.

Definitely will photograph and post the process though

Don

I got mine yesterday afternoon, unpacked it and it looks great! I think the box and packing weighte more than the launcher!

Unfortunately for me, I won't be doing any climbing and installing until my new bionic knee  permits which may mean next spring. The quality is excellent, have rarely seen such good welding and I have seen a lot in my shipbuilding years. Will follow others in the use of liners and lips, probably the WM variety, have a couple of $15 coupons that are burning a hole in my pile of unfiled mail.

Glad I could get in on the volume buy though and really appreciate all the work in ordering, designing, packing, etc. Will post pictures when I get around to it but it'll be old news by then.

  Good news. Boaters World carries the Perko lip for Ron's Rocket Launchers at $4.99 a pop. Much better than West Marine's $9.99 each.

Spare Liner Lip Open - 483DP199A

Boaters World SKU 477260392

You may have to call direct, but they have them.

For Jim on the Work Release, I finally installed the "Snoopy-C" rocket launchers on a tall top C-22. Came out pretty good. Photos are in my album. The plate is a tad thin and that flexibility results in some gaps at the top in the area between the hold down screws, but it isn't enough to generate heartburn at all. Might just fill it in with 3M 4200 if it creates water retention problems. Great design, Ron.

Hi Don,
Thanks for posting the pics, and they do look good installed on your boat. If I may ask, just what is the metal thickness of the mounting plate?
Jim

Anyone part of this group buy on the launchers not yet installed and having second thoughts - Interested in parting with it?

Cheers,

Dan

Dan, I did leave the pattern at the Carlson Sheet Metal outfit. They can still deliver, although the price might be a bit more. You can find their phone number and the contact person by going through this thread. If you have any problems with making the contact or insuring that the launcher is correct, I'd still contact them for you. Best regards, Ron

Found this thread and looks like I"m bringing it back from the dead. This rocket Launcher fabrication looks to be just what I need. This is awesome that you guys have already worked everything out and hopefully makes it real easy for me to order some. I contacted Carlson Sheet Metal and I"m waiting for a response. I'll update you guys with the progress and who knows, maybe somebody else is looking for something like this as well.

Anybody know if the metal used was SS 316?

Had some on my first 22, they worked fine and looked good but the spousal unit didn't like them! And this is really coming "from the dead" :( , Don (Sneaks) passed away suddenly right after Christmas in 2010 (I think). Shocked us all! He's still a "friend" of mine on Facebook and gets Birthday wishes from a few Brats every December 28th! Since I don't fish, and cows don't swim, I don't need them on my current 22.

Charlie

Actually, cows do swim but they hardly ever bite a lure. My special ear of corn lure with two large treble hooks might work but you need a heavy duty rod ,and reel.
