I slid the liner I made out of my launcher. It is 1 1/2 inch pvc, which is really close to the diameter of the stainless tube. I slit the pvc tube so I could squeeze it together enough to fit inside the stainless. You might go to the last 4 pictures in Snoopy-C album to see some details. In the one, my finger is pointing to where the pvc is split. Once we get 2 or 3 people for sure, I'll get the shop to start the project. When done, I'll ask them if you can call in a credit card, or you can send a check made out to me and/or Carlson Sheet Metal. I'll see if they can ship, and if not, I'll take care of it and have you send me the $$ for the shipping. IMG_1282.jpg

Folks, just a reminder that this is the internet and that posting your personal information may not be a good idea.
you may want to use Personal Messages (PM) or email to keep your personal information, well, personal.
You never know who might be out there mining this info....

That really is a slick setup - and a great price, too. Good solid stainless bolt-on rocket launchers would be more expensive, and you would still need the custom stainless rail fabricated to hold them. Also, the bolt-on rocket launchers can loosen and rotate - it's another thing you have to keep an eye on.

If I didn't already have the arch, I'd be all over this setup. The only thing I would change is the PVC liners - the bolt-on launchers I have use some kind of white rubber liner that I like better. They are from Precision Marine - you might contact them to see if they'll sell the liners seperately (web site link.)

Another modification you might want to have done - drill a hole horizontally through each launcher tube before they are welded on, about mid-way down. Then, you can secure your rods with a tie-down. While it would take pretty rough seas to actually lose a rod out of a tube, I just wouldn't want them bouncing around.

I've got orders for 4 launchers, and confirmation emails so far from "Topkick", "Sneaks", "Rokjok777", and "Captains Choice". I will contact Carlson Sheet Metal and get the order going this week. Ron

Snoop-C

Go to Marinco.com and click on marine division, enter part number 40024.
The rubber liners are 9 1/2 L X 1 7/8 ID do you think these would work in the tubes?

Thanks for all your help

Hey guys, I called Carlson Sheet Metal on Friday and asked them how they are coming. They said they have the plates cut out, and said since the crew is starting to be restless, they would try and complete the package by the end of this coming week........that would be the 24th. I'll call them on Thursday, and report back. I received a check from TOPKICK, but haven't cashed it until I'm satisfied with the delivery of the launchers. I'll have to see how to package them, and figure the weight, destination, and shipping charges. I'll let you know by the week's end. Folks on the order end are TOPKICK, SNEAKS, ROKJOK777, and CAPTAINS CHOICE. Regards, Ron

The Marinco liner might work...as I said the ID of the 2" tubes will accept the pvc when split with a saw. I suppose that the 1 7/8 inch Marinco might go in....you'd have to know the id of the tubes they are going in...The pvc does work well however. Ron

:( and :D

Contacted the sheetmetal outfit and they said the launchers will be ready Monday instead of today. The 4 parties that placed orders should receive and email from me today, noting this information. Will update on Monday. Ron

Well folks, here they are........I've sent a note to the guys who have ordered them to get the correct billing, etc. Here is a photo of the items:

I've spoken to the folks at Carlson Sheet Metal, and if anyone else wants these, I've left the pattern there. Call Paul, and ask for the standard C-Dory rocket launchers (pole holders). He said you can order direct. Ron

Ron,

Boy, Do they look nice, We want to THANK YOU for all your effort and trouble. I'm looking forward to showing it to my boating friends.

THANK YOU
