RFID Chip in your Credit Card

If given the choice between handing my credit card over to someone (who then disappears with it - eg., a restaurant) or having it scanned via RFID (data is encrypted during the scanning process), I'll choose RFID every time.

Our dog has one..... :dog :love

I would guess that Dr. Bob's puppy does too (I've seen him and Marie look at Angel!! :thup)

I would guess it's only a matter of time for people to have one. Might be useful for Alzheimer's patients if they stray too far from home. Maybe we need an alternative Brats site for us as we get older where every post is a "new post" since we won't remember them anyway....

As my Mom aged, she used to say it was great, she could reread all her books! :disgust

My credit union debit card charges no transaction fees, limits liability if stolen to $50, and has no annual fee. I don't see any disadvantage since on purchases at alot stores, you can get additional cash avoiding ATM fees when I am out of state, and there is no RFID chip in it. It worked well on a trip to Africa getting cash out of ATM's.

Just saw on the "News" that someone stole Paul Allen's identity and tried to scam $15K on his debit card.
Perhaps hoping he wouldn't notice such a small amount ??

Some people have RFID's inserted that act as their password to computer systems etc. I guess us "old farts" are liable to have our limbs or other appendages stolen at the same time as thugs rip off our I-pads which we D-Pend upon to remember something or other, whatever it was.

I'm with Joe on this one, we can cruise back to old places and see them as new. Must be something in the theory, my dogs stop at the same tuft of grass every time on their daily walk and examine it with great interest. Maybe it's their equivalent of Fox news or Coyote Chronicles.

Time to get out on the water guys
