Reversing seat in 22

Texasair,

I really like your mod... Just couldn't remember whose it was! Definitely one I will consider in future ('course there are so many :D)

Sunbeam , I believe you are confusing a photo the 25' with the 22' . The 22's went from cabinet style to molded sliding seat in about 2007 or 8.The 25's had the back support on the fixed seat pedestal that swapped sides [like in photo] .
At least that what I remember .

Hi Marc,

I got my info from reading threads when I was shopping to buy. I can't immediately find the (long) thread where the "original" molded interior was discussed (not favorably), but if you go to this link, it's from just after they tweaked the "original" molded interior's dinette and went (back) to the Decraguard layout (but molded). In the first post, below the photos (which are of the molded interior after they eliminated the "25-like" dinette) you can read where Les talks about how this one is better, once they got rid of the "other" dinette (which is what I refer to as the "rare" original molded interior).

If I find the first thread, I'll post a link to it.

Edit: I finally found it (fun part: lots of other interesting threads caught my eye and are waiting for me in new tabs :D). The first post in the thread sums it up (rather colorfully...):

Excerpted bits:

Now for the 22’s molded cabinets. After looking at it and then telling scott what I thought I will share with you my thoughts. ... The table is now a pedestal table that is not attached to the wall ...and is about a 3rd less in size. The sliding front seat that we all love so much is gone. The molded seat is not movable but the back seat rest is. The seat is not as wide to make up room for your legs, but does not have enough room for me to get between the table and back rest. There is a door to the space under the seat but no bottom. It just opens up all the way to the hull. This space is smaller then normal barber seat and has no shelves....

There's more at the link (11 pages' worth ), but this gives the idea of the layout.

I did a simple cutout of the forward bulkhead.

Then mounted a a solid piece of thin plywood at the back of the seat cushion to allow it to rest in either direction.

Simple, functional, retains maximum storage space.

Sharon has used it this way for 2 seasons and is still pleased with it and finds if comfortable in either position.

Photos 26 and 27 in the "Bixby's Cub" album.

Nice idea!

Simplest solution yet! :wink
