I've decided to replace the useless ice box on the Retriever.
I was pleasantly surprised to find I could slide it out after
unscrewing just four screws. I have a friend with a shop who
will build a cabinet for me. I'm going to drop off the ice box
so he can use it as a template to make something which will just slide back in.
Now comes the question as what to use for wood.
Last time I checked Degraguard was not readily available in
New England so I thought I'd use white Marine Starboard, at least
for the door. Should I make the entire cabinet out of this or
maybe use a marine plywood for the parts that don't show? :?
I see some brats have installed drawers and others went with a cabinet. I'm
leaning toward the cabinet as drawers are more work.
But if there's a real advantage I want to do it right.
