replacement prop

Does anyone know of a good place to get a spare prop for my Yamaha. I'm from the NW (Seattle, Everett, Bellingham, Anacortes)

People who buy upgraded stainless steel and other props sometimes sell on ebay their dealer supplied original props instead of keeping them for spares.

You can usually get them for from $50 to $70 in new or like new condition, if you're patient and watchful.

I have an extra 10 1\4 x14 inch prop that fits a 50 yamaha. If that will work for you pay the shipping and its yours I have another. I run a 11 5\8 x 11 on my 50 yamaha cruiser now.

The dreaded Eds Marine Superstore has great prices on larger stainless steel props for Suzuki which includes free shipping. You might check them for Yami props.

Ed's.......... .Friends don't let friends do business with Ed's .
Most of the time its a waste of time. Or worse.
If you can,do business with a local business or a C-Brat that cares.

Askim thanks for the offer.
Sorry for the long delay but I have not been able to locate a size on the prop on the boat. I tried Master Marine and they were no help. I will pull the prop the next time I am around and see if the smaller prop you offered will work.
The one on the boat now had a little trouble getting up on plane with 4 people on board. I had myself and son (both around 200 - 205#) and wife and girl friend (cannot divulge weight as I would be shot on sight) guessing around 640# total human weight. 2 batteries, 22 gal. fuel. It hops right up with just my wife and me onboard. Master said to take the size down a notch but I am not sure I agree.
In flat water we hit just over 28 mph, does that sound about right?
Again thanks for the offer and I will try to get a size soon.

I can't help with the prop - just wondering how you are able to take your wife and girlfriend on the boat at the same time? My wife doesn't let me date. Given the situation, I would not want any sharp objects, like a spare prop, on the boat. Just saying.

I use piranha propellers (http://www.piranha.com/) on my Honda 40's and like them. They increase my top-end by about a knot, increase my gas mileage by .5 mpg, and If I hit something, the blades shatter rather than transmit the energy into my drive train, and each blade is individually replaceable, at $18 a blade.

Master Marine in Mount Vernan is a Yamaha dealer, and a C-Dory dealer. Good guys.

I bought my Tom Cat from Master Marine. I agree that they are a good, competent service center, and I have my Yamahas serviced there. However, if I were in the market for a C-Dory I would look further afield for a dealer that comes closer to the level of passion and involvement that we saw with Les Lampman at EQ when they were C-Dory dealers. One of MM's problems is that they have had a revolving door situation with salesmen, some of whom attempted to establish relationships with the C-Brats, but were all too soon gone. Another issue is that the owner, Larry, is most passionate about fishing politics. He is heavily involved in North of Falcon, etc. Admirable, but it reflects his lack of involvement with the C-Dory community.

James,
The wife is very understanding, especially when I hide the girlfriend in the forepeak and close the hatch. It's a little tough to hide anyone on the 16' but the son is a good talker and keeps the wife occupied in conversation.

I took a clue from Smittypaddler and ordered one Piranha prop hub and a set of R. and L. blades. In a small bag with a floating prop wrench is the emergency replacement prop for either Honda. I know, what if I whack both props? I have been known to lift the counter rotating engine when going through reeeealy shallow areas, just in case. :thup

Hi everyone, Happy New Year!

Anyone out there running a single Yamaha 90 fuel injected (2009 or 2010) on their 22 at Lake Powell? Planning on joining Lake Powell cruise this September after 4 days of watching at Reno Air Racing.

Seeing on many threads our sea level props will be an issue for Powell, wondering what I should buy for my Powell prop?

Looking down the road aways, George :smiled
