Has any one tried a Wynter ( I could be wrong on the make) 12-120 volt refrigerator with two lids ? Wanting to put one in our 25 cruiser that came without refrigerator when it was new.Boat is 06 and I bought it early may and have put almost 200 hours on it cruising on my home waters here on the Mississippi umr224 .Gonna take it very soon to St.Paul and cruise down to our home port in St.Charles,Mo. Really like the two separate lids and either compartment can be used as fridge or freezer . Looking forward to "the saints run" any suggestions appreciated.

Jim, it looks good from the one review on Walmart, but do you really want two compartments? Tomorrow, we are starting the field trial of the Engel we just bought. It's a 40 liter, and it's pretty big. Our hope is to keep everything frozen in it, just taking things out for that days meal. Fresh stuff in a Coleman Xtreme. Will make ice in the freezer, too, to maximize time between marinas for big blocks of ice.

What part of St Charles are you in? In the early 80's, we lived in Mammele Hills, on Tamarack. I worked at Astronautics on the road out to Alton.

At the junction of fox hill and boshertown a new subdivision has been built ( Charlestown) and we are in there. We keep our dory on a lift at Lake center Marina about 7 miles from our house.the dual door appeals to us and we don't want to mess any more with ice we got spoiled with a32' pontoon that we did a lot of traveling with and we had the room for a small fridge that between the boats onboard 1.7 cf and it we never needed ice at all and a small inverter from west marine more than enough power and we had a gen for cooking. The dory is so much smaller and this will be our first trip so we are gonna try ( pretty sure we are ) a whyntr fm 62dz and one large cooler ( ice again) for drinks and misc. and the whyntr for storing milk ,meals for future use etc. The Mississippi is loaded with marinas so ice will be available unlike what we experienced on the Trent Severn and Rideau canals in Canada.

Tamarack was also off Fox Hill. I don't remember Bosherton, but it sounds pretty close to where we were. We left in '83.

Now I'm going to have to check google maps...

Have fun on the big muddy!

Steve
