I was at the Ritchie Brothers auction at Maytown, WA the 17th & 18th for their June Auction. There were two new (never been in the water) Defiance boats with engines and trailers being auctioned off.

• A 20’ 7” Yellow Tail 195 EX with a 115 hp Yamaha outboard and tandem axel trailer. Its sticker price is $39,144. It sold for $18,000.

• The other was a 22’ Admiral 220 NT with a 150 hp Yamaha and tandem axel trailer. Its sticker price is $51,766. It sold for $25,000.

Sometimes I wonder why I want to be in the boat business?

You know how to make a small fortune in the boat business?

Start with a large one.

Good luck though. Many of us are interested in seeing the boat when you're ready to show it.

Buy them, saw them in half...put them back together?

Ben has wanted me to post some progress pictures of the boat. The plug work and mold is at a point where you can tell what the finished product will look like.

I have been reluctant to do much to generate a lot of interest in the boat until we know when it will be ready. The way the economy is, I don’t think we are in too much of a rush. Maybe sometime early next year we will have a boat available to show.

As a former dealer for Defiance-

The 195 is the old Tiderunner hull. The 220 was a new hull, and a good riding boat. Workmanship issues and poor management doomed the Defiance product. They are back in business as Defiance Boat Works, with the same basic management team.

In any event- these were good buys. Wonder what dealer they came from?
