Radio Control Fishing!

Interesting! (Yes and No!)

Is there anything left that cannot be intruded upon by electronic technology?

How about a two person team: One to fish with the boat and another to film it with a drone?

Legal in all states?

How about replacing the fishing rod with a gun and going duck or moose hunting?

No, not interesting. In the least.

I'd rather wrestle boas in the Everglades.

Oh, if you hold your thumb close to your eye, it's
larger than the setting sun. Imagine!

Aye.

Actually I did put R/C boat guts in a mallard decoy years ago. I even made the head turn in conjunction with the rudder. I was going to incorporate a pellet pistol into it but quit that idea when it made so much noise it scared the real ducks away. It was fun to torment my neighbors hunting dog with though. It could swim rings around that dog.

We did some 'experimental' R/C fishing in the 1980s, and certainly others had tried it long before then. Had a 3' R/C sailboat and drug a small fly about 20-30' behind and ran big circles in the local lake. No rod or anything, just tied the line to the stern of the RC sailboat and "trolled". On almost every pass by the shore there'd be another small rainbow trout on.

For us the novelty wore off very quick and don't remember trying it more than the one time. The drone fishing kind of looks like a modern version of that same novelty and I'd wonder how popular or wide spread it would really become given some of the logistical challenges (limited battery life of the drone, the distances required to find the fish, the potential of loosing your $1000+ drone and camera into the water). When you type "drone fishing" into Youtube one of the top hits is "drone fishing gone wrong" and that looks more typical of what I would actually envision most people to experiencing (first 6 casts catch nothing, the 7th cast the drone is forever lost into the ocean, but hey at least he got that great sunset on the way home, LOL).
