I am leaving the boat with the Irish Boat Yard tomorrow morning. These guys have impressed me so far.
I thought it might be a good time to add anchor chocks while they install the windlass. Any suggestions for precise placement of the chocks?
I also asked earlier about installing a Honda 5HP kicker with trim tabs already in place. Any luck doing this? Any special outboard mount needed?
Finally, I am thinking of having them add Wichard flush mount cleats to hold additional fenders. They suggested installing them on the side of the gunwale instead of the deck. I suppose I could just hand fenders with long lines from the roof hand rail but I know I need to find some way to put out more fenders. Seems like there really should be one just at the forward end of the cockpit and maybe a couple feet forward of that too. Yeah, I'm still working on the docking drill. Haven't hit anything yet but oh so close.
As always, thanks for suggestions.I am equipping the boat to take me cruising in Lake Huron's North Channel. I will be solo the whole time so some things that seem obvious with two people aboard are a little more problematic with just one.
