I think out at the inlet to Manzanita, where the road curves up to the water, on the east side of the opening there is a small launch area which is a public park, sort of. It doesn't look like it but I do think it has a small area that is public. I know it is hard to get on land further into the inlet. But you can always go back out around the corner and beach over by where they used to land the torpedoes. It is just such a nice break from some of the other, busier areas nearby. I also used to catch a buoy over at Illahe, just south of Browns' Landing. Seems like in the summer, when every buoy in the middle sound was occupied, those three buoys were almost always empty until at least evening. When it is hot the sun falls behind the hill there early and you can get some relief. I know, that is seldom required up there. But once in awhile it does heat up.
