Pro-Fish 700FF

Well my windlass is now suppose to be on the way. At least I have a tracking number. The place that I originally ordered from cancelled the order saying that they were backordered and did not know when they would get them. So. I ordered from these folks
http://marineengineparts.com/
A couple of days after the order these folks also said that they did not have any in stock and that it might be several weeks before that got any. They offered to keep the order open and ship when they got them. I did not hold out much hope that I would ever get one at the $715 price. Lo and behold, today, I get and email with tracking number. I don't know what the problem was with supply. I also checked with the local West Marine. They said that then have 124 on back order with delivery not expected for a month.

I just got one of the downriggers intalled so now can start on the windlass. Someday soon I need to fit in a day to go for a boat ride.

We have had some great boating days in the last several weeks--75 degrees air temp--between the rain storms and tornado watches.

Good time of year to go boating.

Thanks, Marc! I would have forgotten if you hadn't mentioned the eclipse. Silly, too, since my desk looks right out into the Eastern sky and this is all unfolding right in front of me! It's even got me out in the 10 degree air.

Been off and on clouds here but got perfectly clear for about two min. just at total eclipse. Very nice. Had the grand kids here looking through the telescope. There has been a lot of neat stuff to look at in the sky's the last couple of nights. Monday night night was fantastic when you could see the space station, Atlantis and the hubble telescope all at the same time.

Beautiful here. I tried to get a picture but couldn't get it to take. Took this picture about and hour before it started from the end of my dock.DSC_0026.jpg[/img]

Very clear--I didn't have presence of mind to take a photo, but did observe the eclipse thru the 14 x 40 stabalized binocs. Beautful.
OK, I had to back out side--and the clouds came in--but made it more interesting...Moon3.sized.jpg

clear and 13 degrees here. I missed with my spotting scope and tripod but my feet got cold and too lazy to pull on the Sorels. Can see it perfectly from the bedroom. It was copper colored for a while. Another Kodak opp missed. Can see Saturn and some star.

I don't know what all this has to do with the Pro-Fish 700FF but I do get excited about looking at and talking about the sky. Sam's had a great closeout deal on the MEAD MySky gadget the other day and I bought one. Now I can point that thing at an object in the sky and it will tell me what I'm looking at. Pretty cool for us dummies that get lost with a sky chart. Actually, when used along with a sky chart I'm even learning a few things....

Now back to the Pro-Fish 700FF

BOB, you going to help me install this thing????

Give me a shout--

Right now my only project is replacing the RV floor, but I put down the epoxy/wood etc and then it sets up for a day... I do have the hole saws etc, and epoxy all ready to go...
