Prince Rupert

greetings. We are towing our CD25 from South Carolina to prince Rupert. Will arrive in PR tonight. I am not finding a place to store the truck and trailer except for renting a campsite for 6 weeks. Does anyone have recent contacts for storage. Info from previous years did not pan out. Thanks for considering this. /Larry/

Well...........you could leave it at my place in Terrace BC, but that is a tiny bit over a 100 miles from Prince Rupert. Or you could launch from Kitimat BC, and that would be around 45 miles to Terrace, but Kitimat would add around 150 miles to your alaska trip. Not sure how you would get back to Prince Rupert, bus, or rental car. Just some ideas...

Hello Larry
The last few years I have left my trailer at Coastal Propane while fishing in the area.
Phone # 1-250-624-5011
They are situated very close to the public slipway so you could walk back to the ramp.
Last year I paid $30.00 for the week for the trailer. I did not leave the truck there but they should take both.
Hope this helps.
Ed

Hello Larry
Coastal Propane is closed on Sunday's but they open at 8 am on Monday.
Open 8 am to 5 pm weekdays and 8am to 3pm on Saturdays.
They have a truck & trailer rental franchise and they park our trailer in their locked compound with their rentals.
Timing is not so good for tomorrow but you should take a day to visit a little anyway.

Thanks for the reply. Thanks for the offer to stay in Terrace. We are in Terrace tonite (July 11) but plan to press on to Prince Rupert in the morning. Just a note-we caught the bug to do this trip from this website--and the trip so far has been exciting. Boat camping on land or sea! So far, we have been boat camping on land and have had lots of great encounters with campers. Looking forward to our camping on the sea. We attribute much of our satisfaction due to the sage advice from people on this blog. Thanks much.

Hello Larry, I passed you on the highway in the road construction area west of Prince George yesterday, was wondering who it was. In regards to storage you may want to consider launching at port Edward, it is a lot less busy and you will be able to just leave your tow rig and trailer along the road with everyone else. I have left my truck and trailer there for 3 weeks at a time and never had a problem, of course don't leave any valuables in plain sight. Good luck and have a safe trip! :thup

Yes. Thanks for info. We spent the afternoon checking out Rushbrook, Fairview, and Port Edward. I wondered why there were about 50 truck and trailers at port Edward on the side of the road --yet I did not see any boats in site!! So that will be a serious option. Thanks again. We are loving this area.
