Pretty good deal ...

I was selfishly guarding this e-bay auction just for myself till Sioux reminded me we have no business buying a boat 1,200 miles away in Florida. So here it is for someone else to benefit from ...

CD16 on eBay

Anyway, to be fair I told the seller about this site too. But evidently he wants to continue the auction and I believe his reserve is quite low. You folks have been a great resource for me and maybe this will return the favor to someone.

Steve

PS the seller was very helpful on my questions and returned my e-mails quickly. I think the auction finishes early tomorrow morning.

Speaking of the garage, I just had one built connected to my house that is 50 feet long by 30 feet wide with 15 foot ceilings. It is kind of nice backing the boat hooked up to the truck and camper and backing the whole thing in.......And on other side there is room for another 6 cars or so. It is kinda sick, I know.

I agree w/ Thomas. Hook me up w/ that garage.

T.R. - I envy you.

I have a two-car garage with a front overhang too low for my truck or boat to slip under and it's typical southern-style - open front - no garage doors. I dig it, but Antibody sits outdoors. My garden shop is too small, and my work shop is too small. I am so jonesing for a working-mans garage just like this one - where's that rolling barrel of jell-o dressed up in red riding around in a sleigh pulled by antelope - maybe he can help me out :xlol

Some folks on this site have driven a lot farther than that. There is a really nice and CLEAN C-Dory. If I was looking for a 16, this one would sure be on my short list. (How many C-Dorys are for sale in Kansas? or for that matter within a 500 mile radius of where you are?) I was one of the lucky ones, mine showed up almost on my doorstep one day. I have considered that a very cool blessing.

Good luck with your search :thup

Agreed on both counts, Harvey! But "some folks" are not full time caregivers for a seriously ill mother-in-law. (I'm in her dining room right now while my wife is coaxing her to eat her first food of the day ... at 10 PM!) If we were not dealing with this issue we would be looking at (and willing to travel for) a Tom-Cat! :)

Since we just could not justify the purchase I wanted to open it up to some of my fellow C-Brats.

Steve

PS On the other hand, if not for my mother-in-law's issues we would be back home in the Dominican Republic!

I drove from north of Seattle to Sacramento for my 16. Got to spend the night both ways at my sister-in-laws in Eugene, OR. Nice little bungalow they just had built. About 5000 ft2 or so with a kitchen of my dreams.

We live in Seattle but found our first 22 in Martinez, CA. off the previous C-Dory owner's website. Struck a deal via e-mail and phone. Remotely arranged a buyer's mechanical checkout, remotely arranged one-way rental of a U-Haul for a tow vehicle, flew down on Southwest, sea trialed in the river, then drove back to Seattle. My dad went with me as a traveling companion. The whole process was a blast. I'm also looking for a used 16 but Florida might be a bit too far to trailer this time of year. Mike.

The bidding closed w/ one bid from a person w/ no feedback history. The final bid was $13,250, which did meet the reserve. Less than 50% of original price in 5 model years. Interesting stuff. As a comparison, the C-Dory in the Portland area has a similarly equipped 1997 for $12,750.
