Today, while heading south out of Anchorage I met seven C-Dorys in the first 90 miles coming from the Seward salmon derby. All different models. Still a popular boat up here.
Jack, greetings from Southeast. same down here, except no longer a dealer here in Juneau. Still a lot of Cdory's around. Do you have the Walas stove? I sure enjoy mine. As far as I am concerened it is worth it's weight in Gold. especallily in the Spring time. I am putting on the second season on mine. Really appreciate the effeceincy. I am about finished outfitting it. Good talking to you
Nice to hear that C Dorys are still popular in Juneau. We used to live there (now Kenai), and that's where we bought our 1st C Dory - a 22' Cruiser with Yamaha power. It lacked a wallas stove, which we sorely missed, but it was a great boat. Sold it a couple of years ago, and just bought a new one...
I use a "Mr.Heater" in my boat for heat. It works real well.
Do not have room for a Wallas in my 22' Angler.
After looking for a "new" boat for 2 years I have decided to keep my present one owned for 24 yrs. It works well for us, rigged the way I want it, is economical, paid for, in good shape and I like it. I would have to find a real special boat or find a really bad "wart"/rot etc. on ours to get rid of this one.
