Pin striping peeling a little bit

Take it EC

I had noticed a year or two ago that one of the fine pin striping that surrounds the hull strip peeled in a two inch section. Should I glue it or anything?

I have a small section on my boat that is peeling also, just have not got off my butt yet to replace it. I bought the pin striping already. Just have to do it. But I will redo the whole thing instead of trying to scab in an 18 inch section.

I had about a half inch showing lose, several years ago.... Stuck it down with some 3M VHB (very high bond) double stick tape. It has not returned. In fact, I would have to look pretty close to find that spot.

I had a problem with the striping tape around the cabin top brow color. It seemed to have burned thru in several areas from the sun. I ended up buying new 1/4" vinyl striping tape from a company named "Stripeman Graphix Inc." The tape was identified as "tfx premium grade vinyl." It is made in the US, comes in a 150' roll, and is available in a ton of colors. Because I could not get all of the original tape off I had to lay the new tape over the old, which the vendor said would work just fine. It has now been over 2 years and the "new" tape still looks great - like I just applied it. Because it is so micro thin you cannot tell any of it covers old tape. There has been no shrinkage, slippage, burning, or dulling, and it can be waxed over. I am very pleased with tape. I might add, we went with a slightly different color that compliments the boat better and that was a fun byproduct of buying new tape. While 150' sounds like a lot, that was the smallest roll available in 1/4". It was relatively inexpensive so not a problem. I did have plenty leftover and it allowed me to apply the tape without worry of running out. Plus, I can replace sections if ever necessary, which has not been so far. We are very happy with the results.
