Permatrim, trim tabs and engine wedge - wedge needed?

So my 2006 C-Dory 22 with a 90hp Honda has a permatrim, trim tabs and an engine wedge. I have researched everything I can find and trying to decide if I need to keep the wedge? I understand the advantage of the wedge to allow the motor to tuck further under the boat for increased bow down ability. Are there disadvantages and do I need all three? Anyone else have this setup? I will be doing some work so I have to decide to put the wedge back or remove it.
Thanks,
SM

I had trim tabs and permatrim, on 2 C Dory 25's, one C Dory22 (my first one had neither). The Tom Cat 255, I added permatrims to, and I don't think it improved the boat.

I have never used a wedge. I don't think adding increased "down/forward trim" is of much benefit, unless the boat is severely over loaded.
