Help.
Does anyone have a pattern for a permatrim to fit a Honda 90. I know some people have made their own (Oldgrowth). I have not been able to find it with the search engine.
Thanks.
Terry

Here you go:

It's in Oldgrowth's Sea Voyager Album.

Remember, this was made for a 50 hp, although somewhat oversized.

I have installed two Permatrims. One on a Yamaha 50 and one on a Honda 90. They came out great ( perfect ). I made a pattern of the PT out of cardboard, measured where my holes should go on the cardboard and then transferred them to the cavitation plate with a light punch. I c-clamped the real plate to the cavitation plate very securely on top and then drilled the first two holes from the bottom up through both the plate and PT and secured the first two bolts. I made sure my alinement was correct and completed the drilling and placement of the other screws and nuts. :smilep. Make sense :?: :?: :?:

My $.02 worth

They're not that terribly expensive and the people there are a real pleasure to deal with; super responsive in my experience. Unless you have a metal shop and aluminum stock on hand I doubt your man hours are going to be well rewarded (at least mine wouldn't be) chris

I buy mine, but I have seen a SS one made locally--maybe Roger will comment.

Joe, thanks for posting the pattern.
Chris, "They're not that terribly expensive ", Thats relative to your tax bracket. Why buy something you can make yourself? It might turn out a total flop, but I'm going to give it a try.

Terry,
Couldn't agree with you more. There are few things that give me as much satisfaction as making/modifying something for my boat. It's worth twice as much if I can make it or fix it myself.

Terry,

These things look huge on a 90hp motor. Much bigger than one for a 50 hp. If I can remember, I'll try to get some measurements for our Permatrim on the Suzuki 90. I'm sure it's similar in size to a Permatrim for a Honda 90.

The permatrim for my Suzuki 90 is 21 5/8 inches long and 13 1/4 inches wide. I haven't installed it yet so I can't tell you how it preforms.

Terry/Ken, I generally agree with you but sometimes you like to keep the good guys in business and not just borrow their copyright, especially if they're not out and out gougers.

At any rate, I wish myself and my neighbors would have spent more money at my local hardware store. Now I drive 10 miles to a Home D and spend 30 minutes in there to get a stainless steel screw and they almost always don't carry the size I need, nor care.
