oil filter wrench

Well, I am no mechanic but I thought I would try to change my oil in the BF40's myself. Got a great oil extractor from West Marine - did a fantastic job at sucking the oil right out of the Honda's. However, when I went to change out the filter I found I needed a wrench. Anyone know where to buy the "socket" type wrenches for the smaller filters. Locally I have only been able to find the larger ones used for cars. Any help would be appreaciated. I wouldn't mind ordering over the net or picking up. Thanks Brats. :thup

Agree. My local motorcycle shop had them for cheap. I know Yamaha outboards and some Yamaha motorcycles share the same filter. Suspect Honda does the same.

If you get the rubber strap wrench it will double as a fuel filter wrench. I've got a Harley filter wrench and it doesn't fit my Suzuki Filter.

Hi,
I'm in a slightly different situation, but found the rubber strap wrench is the greatest. I was loaned one to remove the LARGE dia. filter on our big Yanmar diesel (new boat) when the biggest of my 3 wouldn't fit. Worked great even in a tight spot. And it'll fit much more than just that filter.
Sears sells them, I ordered the pair, large & small, pickup at store for $10.99 on sale. Sears item# 00945570000

I went to Pep Bpys and they had the socket type fitler wenches...I just took the new filter in with me....and they had the perfect one ...only a couple of dollars...
