Oh Sugarfoot - Redux

I've been spending the cool parts of the day polishing the boat. A bit of Collininte cleaner, then Collinite wax. I just found out that as nice as the Costco micro fiber rags are, it is unwise to flop a pack of them up on the deck. The color from the plastic bag attached itself to my gelcoat. Oh sugarfoot!!! And other bad words.

I suspect that any bag with a transfer might do the same. Buyer beware.

Same thing can happen with those nice, "touchy-feely" soft plastic cases that they sell $$ you with your shiny new smart phones. Red seems to be particularly attracted to any other contacting surface in direct relationship to the degree of difficulty in removing it.

,,,regarding Collinite wax.. I have always used Collinities 925 fiberglass boat wax, which does an excellent job. This year however, I tried Collinite 885 heavy duty paste fleetwax. Holy mackeral that stuff is good. It's just as easy to apply as the 885. (I spit in the can every time I load the applicator rag). It shines up easy too. I do it all "manually". and enjoy the work. The shine just lasts and lasts. I got mine at West Marine this time, but I remember that Tyboo posted a good source on the net where he gets his.
