NO

I'm kinda new here and don't know the ropes yet, but I'd like to see you stay. The Cape Cruiser boats have similiar blood lines and it seems to me they belong here too.

Maybe the cape cruiser folks have a site!
If not, you could probably start one using the film footage from this up coming expedition as an opener!
Any way enjoy your new boat.

I'm only a guest here on the c-brats site, not the home owner so I can't make any suggestioins for you. I don't think anyone's going to tell you not to post here just because you don't own a c-dory. Having said that, this is a c-dory site and I personally don't want to wade through capecruiser info just to find info specific to c-dory's. Nothing personal but I'm not sure the intent of this site was to discuss all boat makes.

Just a thought. Did you ever consider picking up the phone and calling c-dory? You know the postal service has been known to lose a letter or two. Maybe a follow up call would have been fruitful. Anyway enjoy your new boat.

YukonChris,

The Cape Cruisers look to be a fine boat, I hope it suits your needs as much as the C-Dory suits mine.

I will have to agree with Flapbreaker on this one-

A Fun and Informative Forum for C-Dory People!
No Rules - Just be nice!

Happy cruising and have a Happy Thanksgiving

I just took a look at the site mentioned above. It seems to be highly slanted towards the Cape Cruiser. Which is fine, it's Redfox's site. However when I see comparative pictures of the Cape Cruiser and the C-Dory using at least a three year old picture of a C-Dory 25 cockpit compared to a new Cape Cruiser 26 cockpit, I have to wonder about the rest of the content of the site.

My opinion is this-This is "the home for C-Dory people". You, and any other nice person are welcome --as a guest in our home. I do wish you well in your adventures.

David,

Thanks for checking out the site.

The comparison photos were taken by Three Rivers Marine in Fla. They are now a CC dealer so the CC-26 is new but the C-Dory is a used boat they had in stock. Many of the CC photos (the ones that are not posted by CC owners) were 'borrowed' from CC dealers or the CC factory site.

Greg and I are hosting the CC owners until there are enough to have a separate site.

We welcome polite discussion of C-Dorys, Cape Cruisers (both of which are Toland designed boats), or any other boats of interest. I would be happy to answer any questions I can, either online or by PM or e-mail. I owned a CD 22 for 16 years and lusted after a CC until my back couldn't take the rough ride of either boat any more. We now have a big old trawler so we can continue boating into 'old age'! LOL

C-Brats, give us a wave as you fly by, or stop in for a cup of coffee anytime you see the 'Jacari Maru' out on the water.

Just to make things clear, the CC factory has no direct involvement with CD Red Fox. We are running the site for the fun of it!!

No problem Larry, I just wanted to point out the unfair comparison of a few of the photes that compared the CD25 to the CC26.
I will certainly be on the look-out for the Jacari Maru out on the waters.

David

Chris,

You have an exciting float trip planned. Will you have a website up that one could keep an eye on? The information you will have to share would be invaluable for anyone hoping to retrace part or all of your expedition.

Pat

I will be very interested in following your progress. If you leave this forum please give an address where you might be posting.

Chris-

Logical or illogical as it might be, the best solution would be for you to post on a neutral website of your own.

There are some "bad vibes" (dated term!) in the undercurrent flowing beneath the C-Brats and Cape Cruiser groups, for some individuals, at least.

Best not to open that Pandora's Box on Thanksgiving Day!

Good Luck on your trip and keep us informed!

Joe.

Why have the words (Cape-Cruiser) in the above posts become a link to C-Dory Red Fox?

Larry - please see the announcement. I was in the process of typing it up when you noticed the change.

If folks don't like it, it's easy enough to back out. It was done with the intention of helping folks find the site you and Greg run, where the boats are discussed in more detail.

If you've got feedback about the change now that you know what is happening, please follow up over in the new thread.

Thanks,

Bill

Yukonchris:

You didn't want to spend over $30,000 for a boat. What was the out the door price on the CC? Did you get the E-TEC jet drive?
