I went to get my propane tanks refilled today, and they would not do my epoxy/fiberglass tank.... they said that the DOT said that they were not allowed to fill those anymore.... and I really liked that tank...it did not rust and was easier to carry...plus you could see the liquid level...

Mine is a Ragsco cylinder and it looks like it's ok. Might be a little hard to get them filled if they think it's any fiberglass tank. Lite cylinder is all ready bankrupt so there's no money for damages. I just got mine refilled last week and nobody said anything. Here's a link to the Ragasco site.

Joel, if it's not a Lite Tank, take this recall with you when you go next time and if they still refuse, ask them to show you the DOT paperwork that says they cannot do it... :thup

I just knew it was something like that..... and that it was only one manufacturer....or I would have heard something about it..... The place where I tried to have it filled didn't even look...so I bet they think it is all fiber/plastic cylinders..

I did just now go out and check .....and sure enough it is a Lite Cylinder...so I am boned...as usual...

I think I bought that tank on-line so I will pull the valve out and repurpose the cylinder.... yard art..
