no fishin the rest of this year

We're set for Friday morning for my first cocktail of chemo. The diagnosis was non-small cell carcinoma lung cancer, Stage IV -- will learn more about THAT when we go in Friday

We've made our bucket list -- and it will include any Brat gatherings we can muster ourselves to :smile Of course, it also includes trips to Alaska, various points in California, Nevada, Colorado, Wyoming, Tennessee and probably a southern route across the US, since I've never seen that!....So we'll undoubtedly see some parts of Texas (never been there)

Caty

Caty and Steve,

Our thoughts and prayers are sent your way. When you come to Texas, it would be our pleasure and honor to show you around.

We wish you success and ease with your upcoming treatments. My Mother is a survivor of lung cancer (14 years now). Attitude is so important, and yours is magnificent. We admire and enjoy your posts on this forum and look forward to an in-person hug when we meet.

Regarding a "bucket list": No one ever knows how many days they get on this earth. Please know that you have the power and spirit of hundreds of Brats on your side.

Our best wishes,
Jim & Joan Bathurst

Caty,

Crazy John Frazey here...just wanted to say Hi and wish you the best with this. Sure had some fun laughs with you and Steve at Cathlamet this year....still grin when I think about it.

Amy and I look forward to seeing you both at a gathering soon!

:smiled

Caty, just a note to let you know that your medical issue has been weighing heavily on my mind since you first made us aware of it. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, and will be especially with you on Friday. (Like Chuckpacific, a 22 foot C-Dory was on my list when I had my "rude awakening").

Caty -

The girls and I are with you, too. Thank you so much for being a part of this group. The people here are pretty special, and you belong here. The strength of our wishes is true and great and I hope it helps you as much as we want it to.

Mike

I"m pulling for you too Caty. I haven't met you other than through this site, but any women/girl who fishes is A#1 in my book! When the chemo is over, get yourself an electric reel and keep on fishin!

Caty,

I almost feel like I know you from all your posts here on the site. I am sure you'll give this latest setback a run for the money. Thanks for all your posts and know that we're all pulling for you!

LOL Roger...actually, the beginning of this year, I got myself a 2-speed reel....can't wait to give it a whirl! :D

I have hesitated bringing this thread back to the top. One of my last post on this site was to CatyMae expressing my hopes and prayers for her when she found out she had cancer. I was very busy – working more than 90 hours a week, still do, so I only checked this site two or three times a month and missed the CatyMae is no longer with us… thread. Since reading it a few days ago, I have been bummed out and did not feel like posting anything but feel I have to pay my last respect to her.

I joined this site about the same time she did and followed her post and excitement about her first C-Dory, then her disappointment when it started leaking and the factory being unable to fix it. Thru-out it she kept a positive outlook and her post reflected that positive outlook. At that time, I knew CatyMae was quite a woman and someone I really grew to respect. Eventually the factory replaced her boat.

I missed most CBGT’s this year because of my work schedule, but I did make the Cathlamet get together and I am glad I did because I got to visit with CatyMae one last time.

CatyMae, I will miss you. May God rest your soul.

Steve and family, I hope this does not cause you any additional grief.

Dave, I think I know what you mean about the bummed out feeling. And I do not think you are likely to cause any additional grief by bringing it back up. Thanks. I am glad you did.

Caty and Steve and the CatyMae should have been at my dock last week for their annual CR salmon fishing and I miss them.

Like Dave, I was hesitant to bring this back up, I was stunned to read of Caty's passing. She was so full of zest and a love of fishing. I hope the fish are large and plentiful where she is now. Condolences to the family
