NFL draft

Saturday is NFL draft day, once again I'll sit at home by the phone and hope somebody calls me and offers me a big contract to play ball.....I've never played organized football, I can run a 3.8 40, that would be 3 hours 80 seconds , can't throw fer beans, weigh in a bit over 200lbs in my winter trim but I think I could make a good third string QB as long as I don't have to do anything other than signal in plays. I'm well versed in hand signs, mostly learned in the construction industry though.

Who or what position do the Seahawks go for with the fourth pick, a QB, lineman, better looking cheerleaders? I'm thinking with the recent news piece about Hasselback being the QB to lead the team for years to come, they grab Sanchez from USC
 
Hmm, I don't know, B~C. I don't think I'd draft a quarterback that high. I'd go for an offensive or defensive lineman. Unglamorous, but necessary.
 
Your post made me laugh. I've always thought 3rd string QB was a great job to have. Really good money, you don't get hit regularly by men nearly twice my weight, summers off and one can still say "I'm a pro QB..." at bars etc. My second choice would be place kicker, but that has so much PRESSURE. Of course like you, in my fantasy life, I could outrun the best cornerbacks in the league and catch the deep ball for all the glory. Problem is I'm nearly 50, only 5'10" and the FASTEST I could EVER run the 40 was a 4.5...and that was in high school. Oh, well.

As for the draft; I've come to realize that men who are much smarter about pro football than I am will make the decision and we, as fans, will have to live with it. The "media" says Sanchez and I can understand the logic but Walter Jones isn't getting any younger either.
 
I found it difficult to remain upright most of the time in high school much less run a 40, in Pendleton, drinking was a varsity sport in which I lettered.......man I was a young idiot, but alas, I've grown and matured and am now an older idiot.

It does all start with the line fer sure, look what happened when Hutchinsen left.....it will be interesting

I did my share too as the age to drink in Hawai'i was 18 when I was a senior. I was a marginal althlete at best. Played soccer, ran cross country & track etc but my dad would not sign the release for football. Ironically, I had a major knee injury playing striker (soccer) in my junior year and underwent reconstruction surgery "old school" style; 10 inch scar to prove it. I then lived vicariously through my son, who had a 2 yr scholarship for college to play soccer. He's now a dad too and so I now concentrate on just staying in shape for my age. :lol:

The draft will still be interesting. All those hopes and dreams....for the players AND the fans. :lol:
 
it's a little brewery just over the hill from me, North Fork Lewis, it's a heavy, full bodied brew with just a hint of silt.... Soccer? to violent with the riots and all
 
I find it sad that linemen must be offensive or defensive...can't they just be normal people without these personality disorders? Anyway. Dave Krieg was the most underrated quarterback in the NFL ever...
 
So, the weekend is over and I didn't see Ken's name get called. I guess we have the pleasure of his company around here for at least another year (unless he goes later as a walk-on). :wink:
 
well poo, I trudged off to the same old job, another year goes by that the phone doesn't ring...I thought for sure that the Raiders might give me a call.

I think the Seahawks did well
