Next C-Brats gathering

Sure would like to meet and greet some C-Brats in the flesh! I know COVID has probably put a big damper on that happening but wondering about where & when that might happen again?

The annual Friday Harbor C-Brats Get-Together should happen again next year and I would expect it to be on Thursday, May, 12th through Sunday morning of May, 15th of 2022; being held at Friday Harbor on San Juan Island, Washington. There are usually between 30 and 35 other C-Dory boats attending this event along with many boatless people to share in the good time and to catch-up with old friends.

Sign me up for the next FH CBGT! The last one was a great time and we all made the best of it despite the pandemic. Fingers crossed that next year we'll bring back the potluck and other deferred activities.

More than a few people have come to Friday Harbor from California over the years. Plan to make the FH CBGT the centerpiece of a couple of weeks of San Juan Islands cruising!

Hey - I know this boat! I christened it at "The Ditch" on Orcas Island!

We seem to have a perpetual C-brat gathering at Gate 8 in Squalicum Harbor, Bellingham, WA. Currently, there are 11 C-dorys with moorages at Gate 8, 7 on my dock alone. There are 3 25's and rest are 22's, the oldest being an 1982. That has to be some kind of record.

This is the second boat of mine that Pat has Christened and I have had nothing but good luck with both of them! All the more reason to attend the next FH CBGT to have Pat christen your boat if it hasn't been done. Pat, didn't you do something like 6 boats at Friday Harbor in 2019?

CBGT's Great boats and great folks. Good times, good food, and super visits.
Be There It is worth the trip, and we have had folks and boats from all across the country there and say that.

Steve, you know, I don't keep a Christening log - maybe I should!

How does one I sign-uo for next Friday harbor gathering?

There will be signup on "Event Signups" but it probably won't be for a little bit! It is only October, after all - the event is not until May!

It's not even Halloween, let alone Thanksgiving, but some stores have their Christmas displays up.
Seems you can never be too early.

Just some FYI here.
The Friday Harbor C-Brats Gathering (FH-CBGT) is in May and this year it is predicted to be May 12 Thursday, to May 15, Sunday. I say "Predicted" because, unless things have changed, Port of Friday Harbor does not start accepting reservations until Jan 1-ish (Jan2) for gatherings in that current calendar year.

So, Someone has to contact the port ASAP Jan 2 morning and get the bid in for the C-BRATS. Whoever does that is usually the chief coordinator for the event. For a long time, it has been standard C-BRAT policy that whoever mentions an event first gest to be the coordinator. That decision does not have to wait until Jan 1. SO, it is not too early for someone to decide they are willing to step into that position. It is not a hard place to be, and the people you work with are really great folks, willing to help in many ways. So , , , , , think about it.

Pat and Brock, thanks, but I am going to be outa state and maybe outta my mind, but I am committing to the Run for the Wall 2022 and that will be a definite conflict in schedules. This will be a once in a lifetime trip IF and there is still that, but I am going to give it a good old college try.

I will offer as much help as I can, and not get in the way. I know there are plenty of ready, willing and able Brats who can do a bang up job of it. And the great part about it is that there are so many who are willing to help.

Thanks again, But it really needs someone who can be there. (And sorry I will be missing out.) This will be a rare skip.

Hi Harvey,
Colleen and I can coordinate the sign-ups with the Harbormaster for next years FHCBGT. We will miss having you at the event.

Hi DayBreak crew and thanks for stepping up. You two are exemplary C-BRATS. I will get the Port of Friday Harbor numbers to you if you don't already have them.

Hi Daybreak,

Although I am new to this, I live on San Juan Island full time.
I would not want to run the 2022 FH gathering but I can sure help out while I learn the ropes. Let me know what you need and how I can be of assistance.

Jim
