Just purchasing our first C-Dory. Very exciting! '08/22'. We are in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. Looking for info on sources of teak or other custom fittings for cabin storage ie; dishes over sink/stove. Also looking for advice about best place for canvas tops and wheelhouse window covers.

It's always good to have another C-Brat on the Island. Welcome.

I don't know where you bought the boat. We had ours from new at Port Boathouse in Port Alberni. They have always been great to deal with. They won't do canvass themselves but they will know who you should talk to. They did stuff for us some years ago and will have all the measurements.

Welcome, glad to see another Canuck in the group. George and Carolyn of Kerri-on are also in Nanaimo (ghone). The best way to see others ideas for the boats is to see them at a C-Brat rendezvous, Pender Harbour gathering is in about a month. Not sure about the export/import rules but Canvas outfitters in Anacortes, WA does a nice job.

Welcome and greetings from Maple Bay. Another C-Brat on the Island, jeez we're becoming a plague of locust up here. I know Robert at Big Dog Tops in Victoria does good canvas work. He has a mobile shop but I do not know if he goes as far as Nanaimo. Also I have heard two young women in Ladysmith or Chemenius are doing good work but I have no contact info.
Will probably see you out and about.
Cheers
Chris

Thanks for the responses. Nice to hear there are more C-Dory owners near us. Looking forward to perhaps sailing with other C-Dory owners. We have purchased the vessel in Oliver to be delivered to the Island within a few days. We looked at a few and believe we have found a real gem. We are off the Port Boathouse this Saturday to talk to them about their services. Blake & Rhonda Erickson, Nanaimo, BC. Vessel name as yet undecided (suggestions?).

These boats go pretty fast, especially if you come from a sail background like me. When you have the pedal to the metal you may feel a little tense sitting in the helm seat. My boat name suggestion would be Bum Squeaker I wanted that name for my own boat but the Admiral said no. :(

Martin. (just up the road in Comox).

Thanks Martin.
Regrettfully, thats not gonna fly with the Admiral here either.

Nice to see new folks here, and good to hear from the Island. I grew up in Sidney, with some time in Port Alberni.

You are going to love the C-Dory. Former sailor here too, and still enjoy the slow cruising. There are many former and some still sailors here on the site.

Looking forward to meeting, (CBGT is C-Brat Get Together, and there's a high likelihood there is one, more, or many in your future.)

Welcome aboard, Blake and Rhonda. You are splashing your boat into some of the greatest waters in the world. You have a terrific little boat, there. Stay safe.
Rod (from Pender Islands.)

Welcome and great to see your excitement about your new boat. With the folks here at the Pub, you will have an endless supply of ideas and suggestions. What a fun, interesting time outfitting and adventuring with a new to you boat. Enjoy!!
